Can I Mail My Tax Documents to Greenback Instead of Uploading Them?

No. Greenback uses our secure client portal as the only intake channel for documents because it’s the safest way to share tax documents containing sensitive information such as Social Security numbers, income details, and account data. Mailed paper documents and emailed files aren’t accepted.

Why portal-only:

  • 256-bit encryption: On every document upload (the same level as most major banks)
  • Access controls: Only your assigned accountant can see your file
  • Faster turnaround: No mail transit time
  • One central place: Documents, communication, and your final return in a single hub

How it works:

  • Secure portal link: You receive one when you sign up
  • Direct upload: PDFs, JPEGs, PNGs, and other common formats
  • Customer Champions support: Help if you run into trouble accessing or uploading

The same security rationale applies to mailed paper documents: tax records in transit through the mail aren’t as protected as documents uploaded directly to the encrypted portal.
