American Expat Tax Services, a Greenback Company, is an income tax preparation firm specializing in all areas of U.S. income tax preparation, expat tax advice, compliance, and IRS problem resolution for American expats living or working outside the United States.
We also specialize in Canadian income taxes and can assist Canadians with their filing obligations and problem resolution with the CRA.
Whether you are a U.S. citizen or green card holder living or working abroad, a taxpayer who works or travels in the U.S. or Canada, or a U.S. citizen, green card holder, or other taxpayer living inside the U.S. who owns assets or accounts overseas — we can help.

What to Expect
As a Customer Support Representative, you will assist clients with the following (but not limited to):
- Delivering an all-star experience through exceptional customer support
- Keeping clients on track to provide necessary tax documents
- Processing, renaming, and organizing all incoming client documents
- Assisting clients with general questions or technical difficulties (non-tax specific)
- Supporting tax professionals with document requests
- Assembling and delivering completed tax returns
- Processing client signatures and filing acceptances
- Managing projects and maintaining documentation
- Conducting final file reviews
- Becoming an expert in our tools, platforms, and internal processes
- Handling pressure during tax season — we work to deadlines!
- Maintaining high standards while working independently — we provide the tools and trust you to meet expectations

Key Skills Needed
- Excellent communication skills — you must read between the lines and craft messaging that is warm, friendly, and professional, tailored to each interaction
- Customer awareness — ability to identify ways to add value by monitoring industry changes, trends, and customer needs
- Data-driven decision-making — use metrics to measure success, identify areas for improvement, and prioritize accordingly
- Execution and organization — attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple tasks, especially during busy seasons
- Eagerness to learn — you don’t need to be an accountant, but you must be willing to learn the ins and outs of U.S. expat taxes
- Bonus: Current or former expat, or someone who appreciates and gets excited about the expat lifestyle
- Time zone stability — we’re looking for someone in a fixed time zone. This role is not ideal for long-term travelers or those frequently changing locations
