Where Can I Download Tax and FBAR Forms for Self-Filing?
If you’re planning to self-file your US expat taxes and FBAR, here’s where to access the necessary forms:
IRS Tax Forms (e.g., Form 1040, 2555, 1116)
You can download all relevant US tax forms and instructions directly from the IRS website: Visit the IRS Forms & Publications page
Common forms for expats include:
- Form 1040 – US Individual Income Tax Return
- Form 2555 – Foreign Earned Income Exclusion
- Form 1116 – Foreign Tax Credit
FBAR – FinCEN Form 114
The FBAR (Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts) must be filed electronically via the BSA E-Filing System, not through the IRS.
File your FBAR on the BSA e-filing portal
Note: The FBAR is due April 15, with an automatic extension to October 15.
If you’d prefer to have an expat tax expert handle your filing—including all IRS forms and FBAR preparation—Greenback is here to help.
