Can I Delete Files or Documents from My Greenback Account?
If you uploaded the wrong document or want to remove a file from your Greenback Tax Companion portal, here’s what you need to know about deleting or replacing files.
Why Can’t I Delete Uploaded Files?
Due to IRS compliance requirements, documents uploaded to your Greenback account cannot be deleted once submitted, and we are required to retain tax-related documents for up to 6 years after filing. This ensures accurate recordkeeping and protects both you and your tax preparer in the event of an audit.
What If I Uploaded the Wrong Document?
No problem. You can upload a corrected version at any time by:
- Logging into your Greenback Tax Companion
- Navigating to the Files section
- Uploading the new version
- Notifying your accountant so they know which version to use
Not sure what’s required? Review what documents you need to file your U.S. expat tax return.
Dreading the last minute scramble of pulling together your tax documents? Despair no more!
