What Tax Years Do I Need to File with Greenback?
When you get started with Greenback, you’ll be asked to select the tax year(s) you need help with. Here’s how to choose the right years based on your tax situation.
Filing for the Current Tax Year?
If you’re filing your most recent U.S. expat return:
- Select 2024

Planning Ahead for Next Year?
If you’re proactively preparing early:
- Select 2025
Early filing can simplify planning, especially if your situation is changing (like moving countries or starting a business abroad).
Catching Up on Missed Tax Returns?
If you’re behind on multiple years:
- Select Streamlined Filing
We’ll help you catch up using the IRS Streamlined Filing Compliance Procedures, a program that lets many expats file up to three years of returns penalty-free.
